Our family is going through an incredibly difficult and unexpected time, and we’re asking for help supporting my sister, Blanca Montemayor, as she recovers from a traumatic event. On Thursday, March 12th, my sister’s home and vehicle were tragically destroyed in a fire. Thankfully, no one was injured. She is now safe, but she is starting with absolute zero. Her home, her belongings, her memories and her sense of stability were taken from her in a single morning. While this tragedy has left her shaken and facing significant challenges, she is determined to rebuild her life with strength and dignity.

In the aftermath, my sister is now working to secure a safe and stable environment for herself while navigating the emotional and financial strain this crisis has caused. Between the damage to her home, temporary housing needs, clothing, food and other everyday expenses, the road ahead is going to be difficult. Right now our focus is on helping my sister feel safe, supported, and able to heal from this tremendous loss.
