Vrijwilligerswerk in Sri Lanka

Hallo allemaal,

Ik ben Tristan Quaak en ga deze zomer vrijwilligerswerk doen in mijn geboorteland Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka heeft altijd een bijzonder plekje gezien ik daar zelf vandaan kom.

Dit jaar wil ik graag mijn ervaring in het (muziek)onderwijs delen op een school in Sri Lanka.

Met behulp van een vrijwilligersorganisatie zal ik worden ingezet op een school waarbij ik ondersteuning mag bieden bij diverse lessen waaronder Engels en muziek.

Tevens zamel ik geld in voor de Stichting Ama Lamai die veel sociale projecten ondersteund op het gebied van huisvesting, scholing en humanitaire hulp gericht op de meest kansarmen in het land.

Het geld wat ik ophaal zal verdeeld worden over de stichting Ama Lamai en de school waar ik vrijwilligerswerk ga doen.

Ik zal het geld gebruiken om lokale producten zoals schoolgerei, speelgoed, en zaken die ze op school nodig hebben lokaal aan te schaffen. Het andere deel zal ik overmaken aan de stichting.

Mocht u een kleine bijdrage kunnen missen dan zou dat heel fijn zijn.

Alle kleine bijdrages helpen mij om de stichting en de school te steunen.

Hello everyone,

My name is Tristan Quaak, and this summer I will be doing volunteer work in my country of birth, Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has always held a special place in my heart, as it’s where I come from.

This year, I’m excited to share my experience in (music) education by volunteering at a school in Sri Lanka. Through a volunteer organization, I’ll be supporting various classes, including English and music.

In addition, I’m raising money for the Ama Lamai Foundation, which supports a range of social projects focused on housing, education, and humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable in the country.

The funds I raise will be divided between the Ama Lamai Foundation and the school where I’ll be volunteering. I plan to use the money to purchase local supplies—such as school materials, toys, and other items the school needs—directly in Sri Lanka. The remaining portion will be donated to the foundation.

If you are able to contribute even a small amount, it would mean a great deal. Every little bit helps me support both the foundation and the school.
