Hi my name is Samyra Jenkins and I am an 11th grade honors student at Oxon Hill High School. Growing up watching various criminal investigation shows with my late grandma, peaked my interest in criminal justice and those shows always left me with the question “Why do criminals do what they do?”, some people would say it is because “they’re crazy” but I think it is deeper than that. After High School I plan to continue my education at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan New York where I would like to study Psychology and Criminology. This is why I have chosen to raise money for this experience based program this coming summer called “National Youth Leadership Forum: Law & CSI”. The program provides each student with hands-on evidence analysis, forensic simulations, courtroom observations, and legal proceedings where students will gain the edge they need for college and a future career in law and/or crime scene investigation. I was noticed by recruiters for this program and I was personally selected to attend this program because of my good grades. Attending this program would be a great opportunity to learn first hand with the nation’s best criminal investigators and forensic scientists. I would also be given the opportunity to ask these professionals questions relating to starting my career and ultimately becoming a Criminal Profiler with the FBI. With the recent loss of my grandmother, I know she would want me to continue to be successful in her memory. Thank you for taking your time reading this and thank you for all of your support. Deadline to reach goal: May1st.
