368 NYC YOUTH SHELTER COAT DRIVE

We are 368 (@368 across social media), a NYC community of creators who are coming together to support NYC youth shelters. In August of 2021 nearly 15,000 children slept each night in the NYC municipal shelter system. This number will increase as the winter season approaches. For those in NYC we will be hosting a Coat Drive at our studio, the information is below. For those who are unable to drop-off coats our goal is to raise $50,000 to help support these important shelters. The background:

 

In August 2021, there were 47,979 homeless people, including 14,881 homeless

children, sleeping each night in the New York City municipal shelter system. A near-record

18,357 single adults slept in shelters in August 2021.

 

Over the course of City fiscal year 2020, 122,926 different homeless adults and children

slept in the New York City municipal shelter system. This includes more than 39,300

homeless children.
