I am taking on the 2022 NYC marathon in November! With that challenge, I am also excited to raise funds for a cause close to my heart, through the Girls on The Run organization.
In 2018, I decided to run the New York marathon, with absolutely no running experience at the time. I participated and volunteered in races throughout 2019 and qualified to receive a guaranteed entry for the 2020 marathon. Although the marathon was canceled in 2020 due to covid, I fortunately was able to enter for 2022.
Here we are, about four years later, and the marathon is just around the corner. As I reflect on my last year of training, I am so grateful for what I have learned. Running has helped me build my physical health, grow my confidence, and understand my body in a way I never did before. I grew up with little exposure to running or sports, so this has truly been a life-changing experience for me. And I believe that every young girl should also get the chance to learn and grow through running, which is why I want to fundraise and support Girls on The Run.
Girls on The Run is an empowerment program with the goal to inspire young girls to recognize their individual strengths, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health through running. The organization has already helped thousands of girls in the Boston community and, with your donation, could help many more!
Thank you for supporting both me and Girls on The Run. This means a lot to me, and I am thankful for your donation!
