NYC Marathon 50 year anniversary
Hi everyone, It’s me Shawn Eckardt and this year’s challenge for me is the NYC marathon. That’s right you heard me, I’m running 26.2 miles, whether it be a run, walk or crawl, across that finish line in Central Park. I’ll be raising money to be split between three great charities. First being “Run for Kids” who is sponsoring me for the race. The other two will be “Montauk Food Pantry” and The Clamshell Foundation”. I’ve had the pleasure of working with both of these great charities and they both could use some help, every dollar counts. Many people think of the Hamptons and they think of wealth, beautiful beaches and affluence, but the truth is there are so many in this community that need help and some have little to nothing. These two charities give back a tremendous amount in all that they do. As most of you know I was born and raised in Montauk and moved to East Hampton. The Montauk food pantry is one of my charities that I feel the most connected to. I had the pleasure to be working at the food pantry through our latest Covid pandemic and the amount of people in our community that need our help is heartbreaking and every penny counts and go a long way. I’ve also been lucky enough to work alongside the Clamshell Foundation and the family behind it. Clamshell Foundation does many community-based events throughout the year and also helps a lot with food drives and giving back to the homeless and women shelters. Please help me raise money to give to these three amazing Charities that go far and beyond for others. Thank you in advance for all your donations and help. It’s also the 50th anniversary of the race and it happens to fall on my 41st birthday so it’s gonna be an extra special day.
