Tawnya Cox, loving wife of our classmate and fellow journeyman Paige Cox, posted on his Facebook page that he suffered a heart attack on Saturday 8/20/22, and that he was declared brain dead. She says he is on life support and has to say goodbye to him. I do not have details directly from Tawnya, but I imagine she is in the unimaginable position of having to decide when and if to take Paige off life support. She made a call to action to say goodbye by calling her number (listed in her post on Paige’s FB page). My heart goes out to her and their children Andrew and Jennifer Faith. We have lost a disproportionate share of our clown brethren at a young age, and Paige’s shocking situation is the latest unfortunate tragedy. I know we have different degrees of connection to each other, and the Cox family has not made a specific request for financial support. But we are a community that shares a unique and eternal bond, and I think that no matter what the outcome, the Cox family will have a financial restructuring. I think it would be a fitting acknowledgement of his presence in our lives, and ours in his, to make a financial gesture to the family. I’d like to start with the goal of $1987, to acknowledge the year that changed all of our lives together, the year we learned to make others laugh, to have hearts as big as Alaska and to follow our dreams. I wish the same for Tawnya, Andrew and Jennifer.
