Help me legally adopt the boy I’ve raised for 5 years!!

Hey everyone!

As most of you know, one of my children were not carried in my belly.

I have fought for YEARS to adopt him, and the time has come!!

Unfortunately, the cost is becoming more than we had originally thought and our emergency savings is now drained

Leland’s biological mom has made it impossible for us to find her, so we have to do what’s called a “serve by publication”

$2500 just to retain a lawyer and $1500 home inspection for the adoption

I would do anything for my baby boy, which includes bringing together as many people as possible to show him support!

A little background for those who do not know:

My name is Abby and one thing I was born to do is to be a mom. From the start, I wanted a blue eyed perfect baby boy. Who knew, I wouldn’t carry that baby! Leland came to me when he was 3 years old. He barely spoke and struggled with his hand strength. I got him started with speech therapy and occupational therapy. He has EXCELLED and is now an amazing 8 year old. Leland is brave and smart and has overcame every hurdle put in his way.

Leland’s biological mother has not made contact with him since he was 1. I’ve been mom since he was 3. And I could never ask for it any other way. So, as a family, we asked Leland if he wanted to legally be my son and he agreed!

Now, legally we have to retain a lawyer and terminate her rights so that I can legally adopt him. This has become difficult because she has a current drug addiction problem so staying in one location is not something she does.

All in all, I want to be able to provide for my son and never lose him. My biggest fear is that something happens to Stephen(his dad and my husband), and Leland gets taken from me and given to her.

So, help me legally adopt the boy I’ve raised for 5 years!!!
