I’m Oscar, father of little David, a five-year-old who is undergoing a difficult medical journey after being diagnosed with a tumor in childhood.

We normally live in London, but we had to move to Barcelona so he could receive the level of medical attention his condition requires. At the moment, David is being followed at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, a reference point in Europe for pediatric cancer care, where specialists are doing everything possible to help him.

Although part of his treatment falls under the national healthcare system, many of the examinations and specific follow-ups recommended by his medical team must be done privately. These indispensable evaluations—vital for tracking his condition and tailoring the right therapies—are entirely at our expense.

The accumulated costs have become too high for us to handle alone. Our family has already used up its savings to get David through the initial phases of this long process, and we have now reached a point where outside help is essential to continue his care.

The total estimated expenses amount to €10,336.00.

Here is how the funds will be used:

• Diagnostic tests (MRI, CT scans, etc.): €2,434.00

• Catheter removal: €1,943.00

• Laboratory tests: €1,200.00

• Specific medications: €2,596.00

• Specialist visits: €133.00

• Blood tests and injections: €530.00

• Accommodation during treatment days away from home: €1,500.00

We are aware that these are challenging times for many, and we truly understand that not everyone can contribute financially.
