A young Santa Claran who needs help
Kathryn was born in Santa Clara. She had a baby sister, two years younger than her. Her life was like many of ours, until her mom died of cancer. She was twelve, and her heart was broken. Her father remarried and the relationship with her step mom was strained. In high school she made some poor decisions which led to arrests, juvenile hall, homelessness. Her family would not take her and her sister back in and left them in a homeless facility.
By now she was eighteen and free to live on her own, but she would not abandon her fifteen year old sister. Her family would not take them in, but instead sent them to extended family; an uncle in another country. The uncle was a drug addict.
Kathryn and her sister are trying to come back home in April 2019. Her sister is welcome at home; Kathryn is not. Kathryn wants to work and support herself, but needs temporary housing, some clothes, food…basic things every young person should have.
Please consider a donation for short term housing, food and clothes for Kathryn.
