Mission: The Legacy Center is where adult residents can connect to increase personal health & well-being and uphold a legacy of personal and community vitality, resilience and stewardship, which are Divine directives.

Need: The 21st Century and the technology that came with it has brought many changes. Some have been found to be significantly detrimental to adults' quality of life, health and well-being - even causing the premature death of many. Some uses of technology have been found to be diminishing brain function, especially among young adults. Also related to device use, the US Surgeon General declared a national epidemic of loneliness and isolation in 2023, which leads to declining physical and mental health and overall well-being - even leading to premature death for some. The most effective known remedy to those issues and other negative effects of modern life is consistent social interaction. However, these days, especially in north Wheeler County (Texas), opportunities for consistent social interactions are rare. Therefore, The Legacy Center is a singular place where many efforts to benefit residents and our combined area community can occur.
