Dear friends, members, tennis lovers, and supporters of our local community,

The New Westminster Tennis Club (NWTC) has been part of the fabric of New Westminster since 1890 — one of the oldest tennis clubs in Western Canada.

Watch this special member-made video that captures our journey: https://youtu.be/E9WG9sdtAbQ

From our beginnings on grass courts at Carnarvon and Blackwood Streets, through moves to our beautiful home in Tipperary Park, court upgrades from clay to hard surfaces, the addition of lights, and the proud opening of our clubhouse in 1996 — every step was made possible by generations of volunteers, members, local businesses, and community partners.

We’ve hosted one of BC’s longest-running club tournaments (the Hayek Open), junior development programs, high school court time, social gatherings, family events, and countless matches that have created lifelong friendships and memories.

In February 2025, a suspicious arson fire caused extensive damage to our beloved clubhouse — the heart of so many of those moments. The building has been closed ever since, and the loss has been deeply felt by everyone who has played, laughed, and connected here.

But NWTC is resilient. We are fully committed to restoring our clubhouse so it can once again serve as a safe, welcoming, modern gathering place for players of all ages, families, and our wider community.

This rebuild will bring back the space where memories are made — a place for junior clinics, tournaments, social events, post-match relaxation, and simply enjoying the game we love.

Your support will help make that vision a reality and allow us to reopen our doors stronger than before.

Transparency note:
Organized by an NWTC Board Member on behalf of the New Westminster Tennis Club, a volunteer-based non-profit tennis club. All funds raised will go directly to the club's bank account to support the full restoration of the club.

Watch the video above to feel the history and spirit of NWTC. Then, if you can, please donate whatever amount feels right — even a small gift makes a big difference when many people come together.

Share this page with friends, family, fellow players, and anyone who values community sports spaces.

Thank you from all of us at NWTC. Your generosity will help keep our 135-year legacy alive for generations to come.
Proudly serving our local tennis community since 1890.
