Roughly 1 in 8 U.S. men and women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. A wife, a sister, a mother, a niece, a grandmother, almost everyone knows someone affected by this disease. Even men can get breast cancer.
At NVHomes, we too have been impacted by breast cancer and in fact our own ILS Supervisor Elizabeth (Liz) Cohen is a survivor.
In May of 2017, Liz - at only age 34 - was diagnosed with breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. She endured over a year of painful surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation and is now in complete remission.
Her journey has brought us here, where we have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of future women who will receive the terrible news of a breast cancer diagnosis.
Help us earn the NVR dollar-for-dollar match with a donation to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the nation's highest rated Breast Cancer organization for giving, where 90% of funds go directly to research. Studies aim to improve our understanding of tumor biology, genetic susceptibility, and metastasis, as well as develop targeted treatments that preserve quality of life and prevent recurrence.
