Hello, my name is Lisa Bates. I am a 55-year-old proud Black woman and mother of four (three grown children and one teenager). I have always worked hard to take care of my family, but a few months ago, I lost my job at Meijer. Since then, I've been applying everywhere I can, but after five months of searching, I still haven't been able to find work.

Without a job, I've fallen behind and am now facing the possibility of losing my apartment. It's been incredibly difficult, and while I've always been the one to give and provide for others, I now find myself in the humbling position of asking for help.

I'm simply hoping for some support to help cover my rent while I continue my job search. Any amount, no matter how small, or even just sharing my story, would mean so much. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this and for any kindness you are able to give.

The funds themselves will be for paying the back rent. This will help me from being evicted from my current residence.
