Nursing in Nepal
Hi everyone!
A couple of friends and I have decided to make a difference this summer and are headed to rural Nepal for a few weeks in June/July to nurse in a remote medical posting.
The remote health clinics in Nepal struggle to attract qualified doctors and medically trained personnel let alone sufficient resources such as equipment and medicine.
As a volunteer I will be helping to provide relief in the local clinics and assist the local staff in performing tasks such as dressing wounds, administering vaccinations, drawing blood, screening and organizing patients and generally helping out in whatever capacity possible.
A portion of my fees go towards purchasing medical supplies for the village that I will be working in. This ensures the impact of my trip will continue to be felt after I have returned to Canada.
The remainder will cover airport pick up, orientation, Nepalese language course,
placement in a central Kathmandu hotel during
orientation (2 days), program supervision, accommodation and meals
during volunteer placement period, in-country 24/7 volunteer support and
In-country administration costs.
Any donation you could make would be forever appreciated. Thank you so much!
