Nursing Students and Single Mothers

Our mom was a special person that showed tremendous love and made endless sacrifices for the betterment of her family, friends, coworkers, and patients. She was a nurse for almost 40 years and worked everywhere from surgery, to ICU, to long-term care, all while raising the three of us and assisting in the care of multiple family members. As her sons, we saw and valued the things she brought to the lives of others, and want to use this opportunity to help and support those in a similar position. 

We created the Kimberly Akin Foundation to provide annual scholarships to nursing students and financial grants to single moms that display the love and dedication to family that our mom brought to the world.
