For those of you who don't know us, our names are Megan, Jessica, Giuliana and Vittoria and we are new nursing graduates from Toronto!
About us:
Over the past couple of years as nursing students we have been given the opportunity to take part in the healthcare provided in hospitals, community care, and long term care facilities around Ontario. During these experiences we have been privileged to learn and take part in such an advanced, readily available, and effective healthcare system that Canada provides. We have been more than humbled to be able to help others with substantial resources that many countries may not be as fortunate to have.
Our Mission:
The need for medical volunteers exists almost anywhere internationally. Although many countries have adequate healthcare for most of their populations, this access doesnt always extend to marginalized groups and other underserved populations.
Our health project will send us to Tanzania, Africa for two weeks starting May 1st 2017. We will be given placements in departments such as physiotherapy, emergency medicine (EMTs), nutrition, public health, orthopaedics, HIV/AIDS support, midwifery and pediatrics. This is only offered to medical professionals such as doctors and nurses which we are very grateful and privileged to be a part of!
Services we will be providing:
-Vaccinations/immunizations
-Wound care
-HIV/AIDS education
-Assisting in surgeries/childbirth
-Medication administration
-General healthcare
-Head to toe assessments
By combining our nursing skills with our desire to serve, we are wanting to learn about healthcare practices in these communities, and above all: help those who need it the most.

What your contributions will be going towards:
- Program fees
- Necessary equipment
- Work and travel visas
- Transportation
- Luggage’s filled with supplies to donate to families and children (medical supplies, toys, clothes, etc.)
- Vaccinations and mandatory requirements for travel
Our gratitude is beyond words of description and we cannot stress enough that no matter the contributions, big or small, any donation makes a difference. All donations are welcome in any form such as funds, toys, clothes, and medical supplies.
It is our goal to keep everyone informed of our mission and will continually keep our donors updated as to how they are contributing to our health project.
