Nurse Volunteering in Tanzania

Hi!

My name is Sophie, I am a 27-year-old nurse currently working in the Emergency Department at Linköpings University Hospital.

During and after my studies to become a nurse it has grown into a big goal of mine to do volunteer work abroad to help people, experience working at hospitals and clinics overseas as well as learn about their healthcare system. I also look forward to experiencing a different culture!

This spring/summer it is finally time! I will be traveling to Arusha, Tanzania on my own for four weeks with Volunteering Solutions to participate in their Healthcare medical program. During this 4-week period, I will be working and helping in local clinics and hospitals to provide healthcare to locals. I will get the chance to assist/work in departments such as General medicine, Gynecology, Operation Theater for surgeries and the Emergency department.

Volunteering Solutions is a company that provides volunteer opportunities in different countries and fields ranging from Child Care, Teaching, Medical and Healthcare, Community Development, Marine Conservation and much more. They are in collaboration with local NGOs, schools, hospitals, orphanages, HIV/AIDS clinics, women groups and other social welfare organizations.

By sponsoring me you will be directly assisting with the cost of me participating in the Healthcare Medical program and enabling me to bring with and donate medical equipment to the hospital and clinics I will be working in. Any excess funds raised by this fundraiser will be donated to local help organizations and hospitals.
