Nurse Ken's lifelong battle.

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Teresa and I am fundraising for my husband Kenneth.
Ken is a Mental Health Nurse and unfortunately has had recent bad news that he has a brain tumour.

Ken was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 3, and under the exceptional care of Great Ormond Street Hospital, he received treatment and recovered. He is eternally grateful for this.
The years that followed, Ken worked hard to achieve his goals despite surgery and multiple treatments which stunted growth, lead to cognitive problems and mental health problems throughout much of his life.

Cancer is the most vicious, indiscriminatory disease that has affected himself and many more loved ones in his life and will continue to affect everyone around him and sadly many others.

Ken is;

  • Now working as a mental health nurse and has done so for the past 14 years.
  • Now middle-aged
  • Now married
  • Now has 4 children
  • Now with commitments and goals
  • Now diagnosed with a brain tumour.....AGAIN
Unfortunately Ken's worst, lifelong, and often debilitating nightmare has come true. Ken is now facing surgery, uncertainty, anxiety and is worried about his future as well as the future of his family.

Ken does not want your sympathy or sadness. He would like his story to be heard.

He has immense support from family, friends and colleagues within the NHS.

Ken can tell you he is at peace with himself and only cares about those dear to him. In the event that this time around he is not so fortunate with treatment, he would like to make sure that his family is financially secure.
Thank you for taking the time to read Ken's story.
