Kokom donations

Hey gang! As some of you might know I’ve had the pleasure of working with Wapikoni mobile this summer and it has inspired me in so many ways! One of those was starting a donation run for native communities across Quebec! My plan is to gather up as much clothes, supply’s as possible and bring them to native communities that are struggling before the winter! The things I’m looking to gather for my run are

-tampons

-toothpaste

-Clothes (all ages)

-Army surplus equipment

-diapers

-toys for kids

-non perishable food items

I’m thinking about money donations as a few of these items need to be bought new. And if I can’t fit everything in my car I may need to rent a uhual! Guys I know it takes a community to make some serious changes, I am just a Native American with strong native roots, that date back to 1850s. That’s 7 generations of natives. The Germain name has had a big contribution to creating my home community Mashtewiatsh. The history of Mashtewiatsh was that all the communities would gather there for celebrations and to trade, a place where everyone would share stories of their traditions and ways of life.

I’ve had a few people offer donations already, I’m so pleased! An amazing human offered to speak within her circle and gather clothes so when I pick them up it is convenient and in one shot. Please consider doing this! I would definitely appreciate it the convenience!

Ive also scene how people love to talk about helping, I’m mainly speaking on major organizations. It’s really difficult to get things done when there are so many variables at play. I know I can make a difference because of my experience within the communities and the contacts I’ve made, and I am highly motivated to make a positive impact on my native brothers and sisters. Nothing is going to get in my way.

Update: I reserved a uhual van for the 29th of September to the 1st of October. The man said it would cost roughly 390$ to drive 650km which would be the round trip to the reserve I had in mind, that is not including gas! Any donations are accepted! This is happening :):):):) Any remaining funds will be spent on diapers and women’s products
