Let me share with you who I am & why I am trying to raise funds.

I am Anjahni Davi, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here in Northern California, currently employed by Kaiser Permanente as a clinician. Our union, NUHW, is about to begin week 4 of an opened ended strike. 2000+ therapists have walked off the job in order to improve patient access to care and improve therapists' workload. We have been trying to achieve this for almost ten years. Our current contract negotiations began over 1 year ago.

As a member of the union's bargaining committee for the past year, I can confirm Kaiser's consistent dismissal of our solid, realistic proposals to improve conditions.

We need:

1: More in-direct patient care time to support our patients (emails, referrals, documentation, consultation, reporting, etc)

2: Better retention and more hiring so that patients are no longer waiting for 8-10 weeks to see their therapist.

(Kaiser says they hired over 200 therapists in the past year but 377 have left.)

While we want to return to the bargaining table whenever Kaiser is ready (they walked off and have not asked us to return), we must remain steadfast in our strike. That said, many clinicians do not have the financial means to stay out. Raising money will help our clinicians to stay out longer and that will help us to win this campaign and improve the lives of the tens of thousands of patients we serve in Northen California.
