Vicky y Jairo estaban en su apartamento junto a sus tres hijas trillizas, Isabella, Sofía y Ana María. Con ellos también estaba Diego Caycedo, hermano de Vicky y tío de las trillizas.
En cuestión de segundos, quedaron atrapados bajo los escombros. Desde ese momento, nuestras vidas se convirtieron en horas interminables de espera, angustia, llamadas, oraciones y esperanza.
Ana María fue rescatada con vida. Sufrió heridas en sus brazos y una fractura de pelvis. Ya salió de cirugía y ahora le espera un largo proceso de recuperación. En medio de una tragedia tan inmensa, tenerla con nosotros es un milagro al que nos aferramos con todas nuestras fuerzas.
Pero las noticias que llegaron después nos fueron destrozando una a una.
Nuestra Sofía fue encontrada sin vida. Diego también falleció.
Después recibimos la confirmación de que Vicky y Jairo habían sido encontrados sin vida, abrazados bajo los escombros.
Juntos hasta el final.
Y durante días seguimos buscando a Isabella. Nos aferramos a la esperanza hasta el último momento.
Hoy, con el corazón completamente roto, tenemos que actualizar esta historia una vez más.
Isabella fue encontrada sin vida el 13 de agosto a las 6:30 PM. Ya no estamos esperando a nadie bajo los escombros.
Y la realidad que queda es devastadora: Ana María sobrevivió, pero perdió a sus padres, Vicky y Jairo; a sus dos hermanas trillizas, Sofía e Isabella; y a su tío Diego.
En cuestión de días, Ana María quedó sin la familia con la que compartía su vida todos los días. Isabella, Sofía y Ana María llegaron juntas a este mundo. Eran trillizas. Crecieron juntas, se graduaron de la universidad juntas, trabajaban juntas y tenían sueños, planes y toda una vida por delante.
Hoy Ana María tiene que comenzar un camino que nadie debería tener que recorrer. Tiene que recuperarse físicamente de sus heridas y de una fractura de pelvis, pero también tendrá que intentar reconstruir su vida después de una pérdida imposible de dimensionar.
Perdió a sus padres. Perdió a sus dos hermanas. Perdió a su tío. Y ella quedó aquí.
Por eso hoy, más que nunca, estamos pidiendo ayuda. Queremos que Ana María tenga una base sólida para recuperarse física y emocionalmente y, cuando pueda, comenzar a reconstruir su vida sin tener además que cargar con la preocupación económica de todo lo que viene.

Our family is living through a tragedy that we still struggle to put into words. The 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Cali on August 10 changed our family forever.
Vicky and Jairo were in their apartment with their three triplet daughters, Isabella, Sofía, and Ana María. Also with them was Diego Caycedo, Vicky’s brother and the girls’ uncle.
In a matter of seconds, they were trapped beneath the rubble. From that moment on, our lives became endless hours of waiting, anguish, phone calls, prayers, and hope.
Ana María was rescued alive. She suffered injuries to her arms and a fractured pelvis. She has undergone surgery and now faces a long road to recovery.
In the middle of such unimaginable tragedy, having her with us is a miracle we are holding onto with everything we have.
But the news that followed shattered us piece by piece.
Our Sofía was found without life. Diego also passed away.
Then came the devastating confirmation that Vicky and Jairo had also been found without life, embracing beneath the rubble. Together until the very end.
And for days, we continued searching for Isabella. We held onto hope until the very last moment.
Today, with completely broken hearts, we have to update this story once again. Isabella was found without life on August 13 at 6:30 PM. We are no longer waiting for anyone beneath the rubble.
And the reality we are left with is devastating: Ana María survived, but she lost her parents, Vicky and Jairo; both of her triplet sisters, Sofía and Isabella; and her uncle Diego.
In a matter of days, Ana María lost the family she shared her everyday life with.
Isabella, Sofía, and Ana María came into this world together. They were triplets. They grew up together, graduated from university together, worked together, and had dreams, plans, and their entire lives ahead of them.
Now Ana María has to begin a journey no one should ever have to face. She must recover physically from her injuries and fractured pelvis, while somehow beginning to process a loss that is impossible to comprehend. She lost her parents. She lost both of her sisters. She lost her uncle. And she is the one who survived.
