Hello my name is Cynthia Yepez, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. Cancer does not discriminate or consider the impact on families. My sister, Abby, is a strong, and determined survivor. Her faith has kept her persevering in battling leukemia for over 10 years. Although, she finds strength in her family, her body has taken a toll on her mentally and physically. Her organs are failing and taken quite a beating with ongoing chemo treatments.

Her body, mind, and spirit has reached a point where she is forced to make a life altering decision. A bone marrow transplant is no easy task. She has had to undergo several tests and find a perfect match from her bone marrow donor. Abby will need high doses of chemotherapy and radiation, frequent blood tests, just to name of few from this procedure. After the infusion, she will need to spend several months in the hospital for preventable measures of infections, confined and a clean environment, and treatments.

The impact will greatly affect her family emotionally, physically, and of course financially. These events are never planned or predetermined. After the process, the recovery time continues several months after. She and the family will need to find lodging while being in Houston. She will not be able to come home right away to her family, she will need around the clock care for several months in Houston.

Therefore, family and friends, we humbly ask for donations to alleviate the financial burden. Anything will help the family through this very difficult life risking procedure.
