This money will be used for preplanning expenses, including:
- $2,900 to hire a professional to complete our business plan and financial projections so that we can fully fund our project;
- $275 to attach IRS tax exempt status to our nonprofit;
- $1,500 for liability insurance for one year;
- $1,325 for supporting our social media growth and outreach efforts to share what we are doing and attract new members.
We are forming an intentional community nestled in the scenic Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania dedicated to living together ecologically and providing immersive healing experiences. Our vision is to create a place where optimal holistic wellbeing fuels an abundant, regenerative economy, food forests nourish body and soul, and off-grid sustainable homes blend seamlessly into the landscape. Here, we reclaim freedom, embrace creativity, and empower generations through education and shared purpose, becoming architects of a new paradigm where sustainability is innate and life flourishes in harmony with the Earth.
We have identified a beautiful property with mountain views, natural springs, and streams—an ideal setting for our vision. Our plans include a holistic wellness and retreat center with a Roman-style bath house and saunas, glamping tents, a farm-to-table café, guest lodge, meditation and yoga studio, artisan market, cooperative school, event spaces, makerspace, and renewable energy from solar fields. The land will feature landscaped courtyards, forest gardens, ponds, and gardens. Activities will include retreats, wellness programs, permaculture and sustainability classes, children’s camps, farm-to-table meals, live entertainment, eco weddings, and a range of outdoor adventures.
Sustainability is at the heart of our project, with a 120-acre permaculture plan, rainwater catchments, gravity-fed food forests, advanced water filtration, off-grid technologies, and regenerative waste systems. Our effort is led by Tami Gingrow, a visionary with decades of experience as a general contractor, holistic practitioner, and shamanic minister, and Elizabeth Lynch, a permaculture designer, educator, and project manager. With your support, we can bring this vision to life and create a lasting positive impact in the Laurel Highlands and beyond.
To date, we have formed a nonprofit organization in Pennsylvania, drafted membership agreements and the beginnings of a business plan. We have been thinking through the logistics of how to get this off the ground. At this point, we are ready to move forward with some of the legal pieces that need to happen as well as promoting this project to get new members.
