Muur om een moestuin voor gezin in Gambia

Voor een hardwerkend gezin in Gambia, die goed op weg zijn naar een beter leven, hij een baan bij de overheid en zij bezig met een opleiding voor onderwijzeres. Aan die opleiding is ze begonnen nadat haar jongste naar de kleuterschool ging. Nadat hij een stukje grond van zijn vader erfde en geld van zijn baas kon lenen konden ze een huisje voor zichzelf bouwen. Zelf hebben ze vier jonge kinderen en ze hebben een weeskind via de school in huis genomen . Ook hebben ze in het weekend nog de zorg over twee andere kinderen om de oma waar ze verblijven te ontlasten. Om nu op de kosten te besparen willen ze graag hun om hun perceel een muur optrekken. Zo kunnen ze binnen die muur een grote groente tuin gaan aanleggen. Ze kunnen daar een deel van hun dagelijks eten gaan telen. Zonder dat daar loslopende schapen en geiten de oogst opvreten. Uw gift gaat via de Stichting Friends for Brikama. Deze stichting is in Gambia actie om de armste kinderen naar school te helpen. Het bouwen van een muur staat niet in de doelstelling van deze stichting. Vandaar dat we een crowdfunding starten. Over een maand willen we het geld bij elkaar hebben zodat de muur nog voor het regenseizoen gebouwd kan worden.

Nu onze overheid zich steeds meer terug trekt als financier van ontwikkelingshulp en dat alleen doet bij “eigen voordeel” is uw hulp bij deze kleine projecten brood nodig. En het komt rechtstreeks terecht!

Wall surrounding a family garden in The Gambia

For a hard-working family in The Gambia, who are well on their way to a better life, he has a government job and is pursuing teacher training. She started that education after her youngest entered kindergarten. After inheriting a piece of land from his father and borrowing money from his master they were able to build a cottage for themselves. They themselves have four young children and they took in an orphan through the school . They also take care of two other children on the weekends to relieve the grandmother they are staying with. Now to save on costs they would like to put up a wall around their plot. So they can plant a large vegetable garden within the wall. They can go there to eat part of their daily food. Without stray sheep and goats eating up the harvest. At least they have already started (see photos)

Your gift will go through the Friends for Brikama Foundation. This foundation is in action in Gambia to help the poorest children to school. Building a wall is not in the mission of this foundation. That's why we're starting a crowdfunding. In a month, we want to have the money together so that the wall can be built before the rainy season.

As our government increasingly withdraws as a funder of development aid and does so only at “own benefit” your help is needed in these small bread projects. And it comes straight to the point!
