NSA-UNT COVID-19 Relief Fund

Giving back to the community!

Amidst the COVID-19 crisis that we all are facing right now,  Nepalese students at the University of North Texas (UNT) are among the vulnerable student groups. Many Nepalese students rely on on-campus employment for their basic necessities, including rent, tuition, and healthcare. These students currently have little to no work hours and cannot afford these basic necessities, and in many cases, may have to spend more money on other unanticipated needs that are yet to unfold beyond what they must spend otherwise. 

There are 209 Nepalese students at UNT out of which 55 have been laid off for months and need serious financial assistance. Based on initial survey data, we have found that multiple students are in dire need of money for daily necessities such as groceries, housing, and medication.

With the hope of extending a helping hand to these impacted students, we have started this campaign with a goal to raise 5,000 USD. Thus, we urgently ask for your help. This campaign will remain open to receive donations, so please continue donating and sharing to the best of your ability. Small to small contributions will be precious and might be a great help to the needy. We will assure you that all your contributions will go to help fellow Nepalese students. 

Nepalese Student Association (NSA-UNT) is an organization of Nepalese students at the University of North Texas. The organization, founded in the Spring of 2005, aims to promote a feeling of community and belongingness among Nepalese students enrolled at the UNT, holds scholarly exchanges and debates, and fosters deeper cultural understanding within the multicultural setup of this institution. NSA-UNT currently represents over 209 Nepalese students, majority of whom are pursuing their degrees in academic fields as diverse as Physics, Engineering, Business, Math, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Economics, and Political Science, among others.
