NRT Employee Relief Fund

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were forced to temporarily lay off all of our employees as our business has been reduced to a small amount of take out orders. As much as we appreciate the support of our customers and community, with their continued take out business and gift card purchases, this money is all we have to to cover unavoidable overhead costs and outstanding payroll for our staff. We have applied for temporary unemployment on their behalf, but not every employee will qualify for those benefits.  Those that do may be too little too late. What we don't have right now is the ability to do anything meaningful for them financially. We can't pay them while they are laid off and many of our staff were not financially prepared to lose their income. Serving tables, bar-tending, and working in restaurant kitchens is not a career for most. The majority of our staff members are working for us as a means to pursue their goals and aspirations, put themselves through school, or in many cases for young staff members,  significantly supplement their family's incomes for survival.  Many of them are in dire need of cash at this very moment. Aid from the Federal Government is, more than likely, over a month away. North River Tavern is a people business, our people need help, and they need it today! Support from the community at-large will make a huge difference  to our people who serve the Sandy Springs/Roswell community when NRT is open and vibrant.  Many people come through NRT on a normal day, but we haven't had a normal day in weeks. The tips  that our servers and bartenders live on had been diminishing  during the onset of COVID-19.  Now they are gone. The alcohol sales and dine-in food sales that we use to pay our cooks and hourly staff are gone as well.   We want to help our people so badly, but without the business, we need help from the community to be there for the people that make NRT what it is.  We are not asking you to sustain our staff's income but to help us achieve this goal. Any funds received will only go to the staff members and their families so that they can buy groceries, pay their outstanding bills, and fulfill their vital expenses to bridge the immediate gap that is present. None of us know how long this will last. The restrictions are getting tighter and the notion that this will be over soon is a fleeting hope with each day that passes.  We can only hope that this passes with the best possible outcome. We cherish our staff members and the work that they provide to our business. They are the faces and the personalities that attract so many to our humble tavern.  NRT plans to rebuild as soon as possible, with most of us healthy,  and with our team still intact! There is no donation too small. If you want to help, but cannot do so financially, simply share our Facebook post. We will take note of anyone that comes to our aid in any way. We hope that you too stay healthy and are able to weather the storm. When this is all over, please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you! https://gf.me/u/xsz5hk
