Chappaquiddick Wampanoag

Tax deductible

We, the Chappaquiddick Wampanoag Tribe, have decided to start this campaign to help pay for attorney fees, operating costs, and our long-term goal of acquiring land on Chappaquiddick.

Our Mission:

To share and preserve Chappaquiddick Wampanoag history & culture through education and Indigenous land stewardship. Creating a relationship of learning and reciprocity with the Chappaquiddick Tribe of the Wampanoag Nation and the greater Martha’s Vineyard community.

Current Key Goals:

Preserve Wampanoag Culture - With the support of our legal team, we will continue to actively protect Chappaquiddick Wampanoag Traditional Cultural Properties eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and our natural resources.

Daily Operational Costs - Continue to support our long term goals of land acquisition, the founding of a cultural center and the expansion of our educational offerings by allowing the tribe to cover recurring annual costs.

Future Key Goals:

Indigenous Stewardship - Indigenous land repatriation and conservation through land acquisition. We will need 10 acres of land for a cultural center and for conservation purposes.

Land Acquisition Fund Goal -  $ 2,500,000

Educational Outreach - Development of the Chappaquiddick Wampanoag Cultural Center for ongoing Indigenous and environmental programming.

Endowment Fund Goal - $1,000,000
