Small businesses in Plaza Mexico are struggling right now due to increased ICE operations. As of January 2026, immigrant-owned small businesses have reported revenue drops of 50–80%.

That’s why this Sunday, January 25th, we’re hosting a Morning Banger pop-up at Plaza Mexico. Morning Banger is a community daytime party hosted at local businesses, created to support and provide visibility for them while also bringing moments of joy to our community during a difficult time.

We understand concerns around safety, which is why we’ve also created an option for those who prefer to stay home to donate. All donations will go directly to the small businesses at Plaza Mexico.

Given the number of businesses in Plaza Mexico, the organizers of Morning Banger have determined that the best use of the funds is to purchase groceries and essential items for the businesses, allowing us to benefit the greatest number of people. The funds will be withdrawn from GoFundMe by the Morning Banger organizers and used to purchase items that will be distributed in person to businesses at Plaza Mexico. The items will be organized in a designated room, and business owners and employees will be invited to select the groceries and essentials that best meet their needs.
