My mom (Mandy) was working as a nurse on night shift December of 2011. Another nurse asked her to help reposition a patient as as she helped, she heard a felt a "pop" in her lower back. She ended up going to her primary doctor a few days later with severe pain. Xrays revealed she had collapsed her L2 vertebrae. She was then sent to an orthopedic doctor who ordered an MRI. MRI revealed cancer through most of the bones in her body. Oncology was consulted and told her and my dad, Dean that she'd be lucky to live 6 months to 2 years and to get her affairs in order.
Fast forward through several chemo treatments, blood transfusions, tests and 13.5 years later, she's still here and fighting. She was still working up until Feb 2025 as a nurse, now with Hospice.
The last 8 months, she's been hospitalized 3 times and each time, told she might die because of what was going on. She pulled through each time and gives all the glory to our Lord and savior.
we'd like to give my mom, peace of mind and try to raise $200,000 to help her pay off her house, car, and any lingering medical bills so that when it does happen, she can pass knowing that her family will be able to stay in the house they've worked so hard to be in.
