ANSWERED PRAYERS! 9/1/2019 Update
We praise God that the judge awarded Kai's mom physical custody on August 15! This kind of custody reversal is literally unprecedented. Even the attorney was shocked and said that this case will be referenced in future custody cases. The final court order is being drawn up now and should be finalized in September.
Kai is thrilled to be with his mother. He was so happy that he ran around the house in circles!
Kai's mom asks that you please consider donating to help cover the remainder of her attorney fees, which are over $18,400.
God bless you all! We're so happy to know that you all were praying for us. God answered!

Kai is a beautiful, gentle 5-year old boy. He and his mother love each other, and he was growing up in the church with his mom. But since Kai's mom lost custody due to corrupted justice and unconcerned child protective services, Kai's physical safety and life are at risk. Help us create a legal defense fund to bring Kai home.
Kai is a survivor. First, he survived his dad’s attempts to have him aborted. Second, he survived as an 8-month-old in the womb when his father had his mother evicted on fake domestic violence charges.

Then, when Kai was only 8 months old, he survived an 8-month long illness in which he had to be fed by an NG tube with feed bags. For 8 months, his mother stayed awake all night to make sure nothing went wrong. But, when Kai went to his dad’s house for a weekend, he was returned with Saturday and Sunday's feed bags untouched. Kai's pediatrician called CPS and explained that Kai had lost weight and sustained bruises while at his dad's that weekend. But CPS did nothing.

Today, Kai is 5 years old but only weighs as much as a 3 year old. On three separate occasions, Kai returned from his dad’s house with staph infections. He often returned with eczema and lost weight after staying with his dad. Kai's grandfather is wealthy and shares expenses with Kai's dad--including legal fees. But neither one cares for Kai's hygiene. They don't cut Kai's hair, brush his teeth, and haven't updated Kai's prescription for his glasses. Kai sometimes returns to his mom with open sores on his arms and legs.
In spite of all this, Kai is still a survivor. Like a flower growing through a sidewalk crack, Kai continues to show light, beauty, and love when with his mother. He spontaneously sings and dances, loves to play and read, and tells mommy how much he loves her.
Kai at age 5
Kai’s father denied that the child was his and didn't come to the hospital when he was born. When Kai was less than a year old, a paternity test proved otherwise. Then, Kai's father sued for full custody. He has since lied in court, made up additional fake charges, and mistreated his son.
But, this past June, the courts awarded full physical custody to the father. No reason was given. But, Kai’s dad has big money attorneys—and Kai’s mom does not.
Kai continues to be neglected and underweight. When he has to go back to his dad’s house, he cries, and says, “I want to stay with mommy.”

Kai is a beautiful little boy with a big, gentle heart. If you met Kai, you would love him right away. He loves to sing. He makes friends easily in school and in Sunday school. When Kai grows up, he wants to be a police officer.

Everything you give on this GoFundMe page will go straight to a legal defense fund for Kai’s mother. We will need between $5000 and $6000 for a retainer. Kai’s mother is working closely with a church that has a good relationship with a trustworthy legal firm. The firm has won landslide victories for others in similar situations.
Kai deserves to grow up in a safe home where he is loved and encouraged to flourish as a person. Kai deserves to thrive--not just survive!
Please help us bring Kai home!
