Help Us Feed 100 Homeless Individuals in Northeast Oklahoma
My wife and I have lived and worked in Northeast Oklahoma for over 12 years as medical assistants, and we've been blessed to call this community home. Now, we're taking the first step in giving back in a meaningful and personal way: by preparing and distributing 100 warm, nutritious meals to homeless and transient individuals in our area.
This is a completely independent initiative — we are not affiliated with any organization, business, or agency. We’re simply two people with a deep desire to make a difference for those who need it most.
Here’s our plan:
We will prepare and distribute 50 meals in two separate phases.
Phase 1: Meal prep on Friday afternoon, with distribution in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on Saturday morning.
Phase 2: Meal prep and distribution for the Muldrow/Roland area the following Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, focusing on areas where we've personally seen higher rates of homeless and transient activity.
Meals will be provided in casserole form to help stretch ingredients and maximize value. Each meal package will include:
One vegetarian option
One meal with a low-cost meat (ground beef, chicken or tuna)
One dessert
A bottle of water
What We’re Asking:
We’re asking for your help in covering the cost of groceries, disposable dishes and utensils, cookware, and bottled water. We will:
Use our own kitchen appliances for cooking, refrigeration, and storage
Cover our own transportation costs for meal delivery
Donate all of our time — we will not accept any payment or personal income from this effort
Make all receipts for groceries and supplies fully available to all donors, either publicly or by request, so you can see exactly how your donation is being used
This effort is about transparency, compassion, and community. Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly to feeding someone in need.
If you’ve ever wanted to do something to help but didn’t know where to start, please consider supporting this grassroots effort. Together, we can make a real impact in the lives of people who are too often overlooked.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us make this possible.
With gratitude,
Jimmy and Daoma Jones
