Our Beautiful Emma’s Fight

In May 2023, Emma heard the words no one is ever prepared for - “You have cancer!”

Hormone-positive.

Stage 1.

Grade 2.

And alongside that, another blow; she carries the BRCA2 gene.

What followed was a battle most people can’t even imagine.

Emma showed up for it all.

The lumpectomy.

The chemotherapy.

A double mastectomy (.)(.)

An oophorectomy ( ovaries removed)

She faced every appointment, every treatment, every fear with strength that left us in awe.

Because that’s who Emma is.

She is the friend who turns up for everyone.

And after everything she endured… we finally believed she had made it through. That life could begin again.

But nearly three years later, everything changed.

By complete chance, after a routine X-ray, Emma was given the devastating news; her cancer is back:

Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

It has spread to her clavicle, lung, spine, pelvis, and femur… and the most terrifying part? She had no symptoms apart from a niggling cough.

This diagnosis is incurable.

But it is treatable

And time can be greatly extended.

Emma is now on an international clinical trial, holding onto hope — hope that it will slow the disease and give her more time. More time with Grace and Elsie, her two beautiful children who need their mum. More time with her husband Graham, a firefighter working long, exhausting hours while holding his family together through this.

Because that’s what this is really about.

Time.

Time for school runs.

Time for bedtime cuddles.

Time for ordinary moments that suddenly mean everything.

Because the truth is;

we all need longer with Emma ❤️

Alongside her treatment, Emma is doing everything she possibly can to fight this: looking into additional therapies like hyperbaric oxygen and red light therapy to support her body and give her the best possible chance.

But these aren’t available on the NHS….. And they cost £1,495 every single month.

Emma is a mum. She works full time. And right now, she is fighting for her life.

She cannot do this without us

So we are asking—from the bottom of our hearts, if you can help ?

If 1,495 people gave Emma just £1, Emma’s treatment for a month would be covered.
