Mike & Cobi { ; not . }

Dear friends, I have never done this before.  I am not sure how productive it will be.  But I figured it is worth a shot and will help provide some much needed funds to help them out. And if surrounded by prayer...who knows what miracles will take place.  It takes a villiage to raise a child, but maybe their villiage has to start now.

Here is their story....

For as long as Cobi can remember, and for as long as she has known her husband  Mike,  they both have longed for children to fill their home. In the first few years of their marriage,  she suffered from miscarriages.  She was left broken and scared to try again for fear of losing another pregnancy.

In 2013 Mike had a horrible accident that nearly took him from her, that year was full of all kinds of trials and uncertainty, but God was at work in all of it because it lead to Mike's salvation. Please watch this amazing video of their amazing story...

In the fall of 2014 they felt it was safe to start trying again but nothing was happening. In October 2015, she had a severe pain in her pelvic region, the doctor sent her for an ultrasound which showed she had very larges cysts on her ovaries.

Cobi's family doctor referred her to an ob-gyn at McMaster who she saw in spring of 2016, the ob-gyn did more tests which lead to her being referred to an oncologist at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic. She went for further testing including an MRI which showed it was not ovarian cancer, but endometriosis. During the process of going from doctor to doctor, and test after test, and the word cancer even entering the doctors vocabulary, proved to be such a trying time of uncertainty for both Cobi and Mike.

In the fall of 2016 the doctor at Juravinski referred them to One Fertility in Burlington. Cobi had her first appointment with them was Jan 25th 2017. She again went through a battery of testing over the last couple of months and again the emotional roller coaster started.

March 27th, 2017 they met with the doctor and got the results of the testing the doctor had ordered. Only to find out the devastating news that Cobi has stage 4 endometriosis, and the chance of them conceiving naturally is a whooping 2%. TWO PERCENT.

Cobi's heart shattered into a thousand pieces. Endometriosis is a chronic progressive disease that has no cure. The IVF waiting list is so long, and by the time it gets to her,  the endometriosis may make even that option not possible.

All of this sparked a conversation about adoption, and both Mike & Cobi are on the same page.  They would love to adopt a baby and give them a loving and caring home.

Mike and Cobi are not giving up hope of having their own child, but they are also opening up their hearts to giving a loving home to someone elses.  We all know having a child can change our lives...including financially.  But add the cost of adoption, and it almost seems unreachable.  This is where I am hoping that their friends and family will help become their villiage and help make this load a little lighter to carry.

With God all things are possible, and that is the promise they are living in.  They believe that God is going to take their seasons of weeping and heartbreak and use it for something so incredible, that they will taste and see that He is good.

Will YOU HELP make this possible? Will you not let this story have a period?  Please pray the continuation comes.

 "When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs."
