Hello Fellow Wildcats and Community!

I am Gina Alba Cervantes, a rising sophomore at Northwestern University. I am pursuing a Dual Degree in Human Communication Sciences and Music Composition, along with a minor in Performance Studies. I am very passionate about what I do, and that’s why I need your help.

A couple days ago, I was contacted about some Latinx families in the Chicagoland area who are struggling to make ends meet due to the fear of being detained and deported.

No one should ever have to decide between providing for their family and staying in the country they call home. I am a child of immigrants, so I know firsthand how real and devastating this situation is.

The Chicago community showed out and the families have what they need. There is still so much work to do. There are so many people of us fighting, and money shouldn’t be the reason we lose. This is now a mutual aid fund for organizations doing the work on the front lines.
