Just over two years ago we began our adoption journey! Alysha has always wanted to adopt and her desire quickly opened Greg’s heart to the idea. We originally had thought adoption would be something we would do after having biological children, but as we were praying about our family and now to pursue having children we felt the Lord leading us to adopt a baby!

We began our adoption journey by going through a local, Christian adoption agency who both supports and prioritizes the needs of the expectant/birth parents. Our agency shared all the amazing testimonies that can come from an open adoption and it opened up our eyes and hearts to desiring an open adoption for our baby. We believe that maintaining a relationship with the birth parents is important for our baby as doing so adds additional people to the family of people who love them!

We were recently matched on July 5th (Alysha’s 30th birthday of all days) with a mom and baby due this month! As much as we have been praying and hoping for this day, we were completely surprised by this match and how quickly we will be potentially bringing baby home!

Many of you reading this have asked us how you can practically support us as we make this transition into parenthood and here is our practical request! We are looking to raise $10,000 by the end of July to help cover our adoption fees. The total cost of our adoption is $20,000!

We have been so blessed by all of the wonderful people who have rallied around us in prayer and who have reached out asking how they can practically support us! We already feel an enormous amount of love and support from everyone and in no way want anyone to feel pressured to support us financially. That being said, however, we would welcome any financial support and prayers for us, mom, and baby as we step into this next season!
