Northern Neighbours

Hi friends and future friends!

My name is Blair Gardiner. For a long time I was a social services worker in parts of Northern Manitoba. Last year so many of you helped start a food sharing program in one of the remote Northern Communities I used to work in. I am still working with two lovely community members and we’re getting close to having something more consistent and secure for the community.

At this time, we are still collecting funds with the holidays right around the corner, to purchase food for hampers. Unlike major cities, smaller northern communities often do not have access to food banks and hampers regularly, though there are still people residing in these communities that face food insecurity that have been benefitting from this food sharing program.

It is the hope that with a more steady food source being finalized that we won’t need this Go Fund me in the future, but for now every bit helps!

This is a small community, with a lot of soul and we want to keep the community spirit going! Anything helps, and we appreciate you all so much!
