North Reading Mask Project

What started 2 weeks ago as just wanting to make some masks myself and distribute where I can has completely blown up into something huge and I’m so happy it did! (Thank you to the entire NR community)  I now have a team put together dedicating as much time as we can to provide masks to an ongoing list of first responders, health care facilities, essentials workers, and those of higher risk. 

I was hesitant about starting a fundraiser. People are out of work, it’s an all around tough time for most. I wanted this to be completely donation based. Collecting supplies people had lying around that they didn’t need and putting a dent in my own massive supply of materials. 

I get requests daily of people wanting to help but can’t sew, wanting to know where to donate. Now that I’m supplying 5 other sewers with materials and there is no end in sight for the work we are doing. We’re at a spot where we’re going to need more materials, more than which I can provide from my own supplies for 6 people. 

I am beyond grateful for all of the supplies pulled together by the community. We would not have been able to do what we have accomplished without everyone. I figured putting together this fundraiser was the best way for those who really wanted to help. 

100% of donations will go to supplies. Any funds remaining when this whole thing blows over will be donated to the North Reading Food Pantry.
