Dear Friends and Supporters,
I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt appeal for aid as we prepare to return to North Africa, a region very close to our hearts. For well over a decade, we have been dedicated to bringing our own young people from Dublin’s inner city, to work with underprivileged children in both a rural town and in a village in the High Atlas Mountains. This year, our mission is more urgent than ever, as some of these extremely poor families are still living in homemade plastic shelters after the devastating earthquake over a year ago.
Our team are planning several projects, but there are three additional programs we are particularly passionate about and hope to bring to life with your support.
First, we aim to take a group of children, traumatised by last year’s earthquake, on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Agadir. Here, they will have the chance to visit a crocodile farm, experience the joy of the beach, and see the sights of a world vastly different from their daily struggles. While this might seem like a simple trip to most children here, for these youngsters , it represents a rare and incredible opportunity to discover joy and hope.
Second, we are reaching out to support two families in remote areas who are grappling with severe health issues, the loss of a parent due to Covid, and extremely low household incomes. Our goal is to provide something meaningful and sustainable that will make a genuine difference in their lives, offering them a chance to rebuild and move forward despite their hardships.
In these challenging times, your support could truly be life-changing for these young people who seldom get a break and rarely have a reason to hope. By contributing to our cause, you are not just offering financial aid; you are offering a beacon of hope and a lifeline to those who need it most.
I know many of you have contributed to past trips and I can honestly say that every year we make a real tangible impact. The benefits to our young people is honestly incredible and definitely life changing.
The more we raise, the more we can achieve together.
