Stand with Mom and daughter kidnapped by ICE from their NOHO apartment in September 2025!

At 6 AM on Wednesday September 17 th 2025, ICE agents violently broke down the doors and raided an apartment in our North Hollywood community, destroying the lives of a loving family.

Carmen has lived in California for over 20 years and has three beautiful children and a loving husband. Carmen was kidnapped along with her oldest daughter Melisa. Both mother and daughter were imprisoned at Adelanto Private Detention Center run by the for-profit GEO Group. The agents took Carmen and Melissa in front of the two teenage children, terrorizing the family, shouting orders, and pointing guns at both adults and children.

Members of the North Hollywood and Burbank Rapid Response and Community Defense networks arrived at the location as the ICE operation was ending, and met with family members to learn about what happened and offer support.

Carmen’s spouse says “Carmen is very giving and helpful to others. She always tries to put everyone else before herself. She does everything from the heart.”

Melisa and her fiancé are devastated that their dreams for the future are suddenlyuncertain. He says “she is a warm person who makes everyone feel safe. She helps others who are in need. We need her home”

After generous donations that funded a great lawyer, Carmen was finally released on bond by a judge after more than 3 months in the detention prison, and reunited with her two children. She has to wear an ankle monitor, check in regularly with Immigration Authorities, and continue to pay her lawyer high fees for the next steps in her fight to stay in the U.S.

Melissa is STILL incarcerated after FIVE long months, and faces a long legal process to be able to reunite with her fiancé.

A las 6:00 a. m. del miércoles 17 de septiembre de 2025, agentes de ICE derribaron violentamente las puertas y allanaron un apartamento en nuestra comunidad de North Hollywood, destrozando la vida de una familia amorosa.

Carmen ha vivido en California por más de 20 años y tiene tres hermosos hijos y un esposo amoroso. Carmen fue secuestrada junto con su hija mayor, Melisa. Tanto la madre como la hija fueron encarceladas en el Centro de Detención Privado de Adelanto, administrado por el Grupo GEO, una organización con fines de lucro. Los agentes se llevaron a Carmen y Melissa frente a las dos adolescentes, aterrorizando a

la familia, gritando órdenes y apuntando con armas tanto a adultos como a niños.

Miembros de las redes de Respuesta Rápida y Defensa Comunitaria de North Hollywood y Burbank llegaron al lugar al finalizar el operativo de ICE y se reunieron con los familiares para conocer lo sucedido y ofrecerles apoyo.

El esposo de Carmen dice: «Carmen es muy generosa y servicial. Siempre intenta priorizar a los demás antes que a ella misma. Todo lo hace con el corazón».

Melisa y su prometido están devastados porque sus sueños para el futuro se ven repentinamente inciertos. Él dice: «Es una persona cálida que hace que todos se sientan seguros. Ayuda a quienes lo necesitan. Necesitamos su hogar».

Tras generosas donaciones que financiaron a un excelente abogado, Carmen finalmente fue puesta en libertad bajo fianza por un juez tras más de tres meses encarcelada, y se reunió con sus dos hijos. Debe usar un grillete electrónico, presentarse regularmente con las autoridades de inmigración y seguir pagando altos honorarios a su abogado para los próximos pasos en su lucha por permanecer en Estados Unidos.

Melissa sigue encarcelada después de cinco largos meses y enfrenta un largo proceso legal para poder reunirse con su prometido.
