North Cedar Food Pantry

During the floods of 2016, we became a donation drop off site for flood victims. As the flooding receded and people returned to normal lives, we decided the giving, the helping shouldn't end. It shouldn't take a disaster or tragedy for us to help our community. Out of this, the North Cedar Food Pantry was born. We started in December 2016 and have grown every week since then. We have partnered with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, to help even more families. As of May 2017. we are averaging close to 100 families and over 2 tons of food each month. and it keeps growing. We have outgrown 2 rooms and need more space, so we are praying that we will eventually be to build a separate building on the grounds just for community outreach. For now, we need your help...maintaining a food pantry is expensive. Not only do we need to keep buying food, but we also have gas and utility bills to cover on top of that. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated!!!

Dan Aswegan is the pantry coordinator.  All funds will be used to purchase food and supplies to the people in need.    We specifically buy food, hygiene products, OTC medicines / first aid, and baby supplies.  Campaign funds will also be used to buy gas and help cover electrical bills
