Norree's Battle: 8 Months Without Water
Donation protected
Hello my names is Norree Johnson I am a 59-year-old woman that lives in Tarentum Pa. I am currently in a dispute with my landlord and borough over a lock they both put on my water when I was not home! They put the lock on for being behind on rent. I was behind on rent for bug treatments my landlord never paid for and other repairs in the home. After I got behind my landlord started to threaten me verbally on the phone and say things to me like “I should just live under the bridge”. Repeatedly calling every day at 9 AM to the point where I had to block them and only contact through messages where they also continued to belittle and threaten me. I spoke with neighborhood legal services. They said they never heard anything like this of a borough and a landlord going into a home and locking the water together. I live in small rural town my entire life where everyone is connected in someway and honestly working together against me to get me out of my home I lived in for 5+ years. I am disabled. I have a caregiver that comes 40 hours a week to take care of me and for the last nine months I’ve been living with no water because of the lock they put on after one of my children took off the lock for me. The borough sent me a paper in the mail and said I did this unlawfully, when they are the ones who put the lock on unlawfully. I have been paying water and sewage for the past 7 to 8 months and not have any water for that long. The borough will tell me that if I don’t pay my sewage, they will keep my electric off and the woman’s down there who worked down there are very nasty to me. I do believe it’s because I’m an African woman. I currently just got out of the hospital for having sepsis on my back. I nearly almost died the infection change my life not for the better. I’m trying to relocate for everything in my house is ruined from my couches to my all my furniture from bugs and lack of water this past 8 months. if you have anything to give anything would help me be able to relocate and have some new furniture. I’m currently trying to get out of this borough. Which is very hard from being disabled. Please anything helps thank you for listening to my story. -Norree Johnson
