Norman’s Cause
Donation protected
My name is EJ, I am starting this fundraiser for my father, Norman Levin. Norman is a dedicated husband, father of three, grandfather to six and wonderful friend to so many. My dad has committed his entire life giving to others, helping others in need at the worst times of their lives, serving his community, the State of Florida, and working tirelessly for his family.
Norman suffered a small seizure on January 27, 2023, just one day after his birthday. Norman has had Epilepsy since he was 5 years old but has not seizures until lately. Shortly after his seizure on the 27th he had another seizure on February 1st. February 3rd he was admitted into the hospital and then shortly discharged against his wishes. Two days later he was then transported to find he suffered a UTI and Bilateral pneumonia which was what he was feeling and didn’t want to be discharged prior to.
He was finally sent home with antibiotics and was ordered plenty of rest. After two weeks we were seeing some better improvements, but he was becoming very winded and tired while on his feet. He again suffered another seizure, which now has become so abnormal for him that my mom wanted him transported to Advent Health Orlando for another opinion of what was going on.
While he was in the Emergency Room being evaluated, he suffered a small witnesses seizure, so they put him into the Observation unit to await further testing. He was accompanied by Marlene (his wife), three children (EJ, Tracee, and Jeremy) and his first grandson (Donovan). This would have been the last time we would have seen him normal. This began the downfall of Norman’s condition. While in the observation unit after we had all left him and said goodnight, he suffered a Grand mal seizure and then went into Cardiac Arrest. He was attended by nurses and doctors as they performed 4-5 rounds of cardiac arrest protocols on him. They were finally able to get him back. He was rushed up to the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) where he has been on a ventilator, dialysis, paralytic medications, feeding tube, sedation and many other meds to support him.
Yesterday, March 2nd, we faces another step backwards as the doctors stated he may have suffered a stroke within the past 12 hours and ordered an MRI stat. He continues to be in an unconscious state with minimal improvement. He has been off all sedation and paralytics for two days now with hope of improvements. He is currently able to move his left side involuntarily or without purpose. He continues to be on a ventilator and unconscious at this time.
We don’t know what his future hold but we are praying and hoping for the best. We continue to be faithful and positive to daily results and improvements. I have decided to start this GoFund me for my father Norman, in hopes that whatever care he needs we can provide him the best we can and he deserves. I refuse to give him just the necessities. As he has provided my family and so many others with unconditional love, help and support. I and our entire family will do whatever it takes to do the very best for him.
From my family to all who decide to donate. We appreciate every little contribution your able to help with. If you know my dad, you know he in some aspect he has affected your life and would do anything for you.
