This is a citizen lead lawsuit, we are a team of residents from Norman, OK challenging the state constitution. This case asks a straightforward but important constitutional question:
Did this bond require a 60% vote under Article 10, Section 26 of the Oklahoma Constitution?
Proposition 5 passed with approximately 54% of the vote. The issue now is whether the City used the correct constitutional framework, or whether a higher voter threshold was required before approving tax-backed debt.
This is not about whether you support or oppose a homeless shelter. It’s about whether the Constitution was followed.
Legal challenges like this move quickly, and there is a limited window to act. Now that the case has been filed, we need to ensure it is properly funded and handled the correct way.
V Smith will withdraw funds from the account that has been been provided and give money order to W Coker who will turn it over to the lawyer M Failing.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Court filing fees and legal costs
• Attorney representation and legal research
• Preparation and submission of legal documents
If you believe the Constitution should be followed and properly interpreted, we ask for your support in seeing this case through.
- Any funds raised beyond what is needed for legal expenses will be donated to the Salvation Army and Mission Norman.
