A charity dedicated to supporting girls.
The Vision -
Noor Al-Wahda is built upon principles of sincerity, compassion, empathy and love for the community. The project will be underpinned by an Islamic ethos that guides the work we do. Our mission is to provide a protected space exclusively for young females providing them with a safe and empowering environment to nurture their potential. We will ensure they are heard, valued and supported throughout the entirety of their journeys in to adulthood and beyond.
We believe every girl deserves the opportunity to realise their dreams and aspirations, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances. The project will provide an environment where their voices are prioritised and their needs are met with the utmost integrity and sincerity. We will take on suggestions from the children, understand their needs and requirements to create bespoke activities and forms of support.
Our goal is to offer holistic support through key focus area such as education and personal development. We will use an Islamic framework to create a powerful sense of identity, confidence and belonging. Through mentorship. genuine support and a network of compassionate individuals we aim to contribute towards unlocking the potential of the young girls in our community to secure a better future.
At the charity, our key commitment is to be a trusted support system for every girl that needs our help.
Noor Al-Wahda is built on three key pillars:
- A Request-Based Model – Girls get the support they actually need, making the Charity adaptable and relevant.
- Education & Empowerment – Beyond safety, the charity ensures girls develop knowledge, confidence, and independence.
- Active Safeguarding – When girls engage with external services, the Charity monitors and protects them to ensure their well-being.
The Concept -
1. Core Concept – A Dedicated Space for Girls
Noor Al-Wahda is designed as a safe, inclusive space exclusively for young girls to engage in sports, creative activities, and personal development. This initiative aims to foster confidence, independence, and growth in an environment free from external pressures.
2. Request-Based Charity Model
Unlike traditional charities that offer predefined programs, Noor Al-Wahda operates on a request-based model, meaning:
- Girls and their families can request specific support, activities, or resources based on their needs.
- The charity will adapts its programs to what the girls actually need, rather than imposing a fixed structure.
- This model ensures that the support provided is truly relevant and impactful, empowering young girls to have a say in their personal growth and well-being.
3. Education
Noor Al-Wahda goes beyond providing activities—it also incorporates educational elements to equip girls with life skills, including:
Confidence & Leadership Development – Teaching girls to advocate for themselves and build self-esteem.
Health & Well-Being Education – Offering workshops on mental health, self-care, and personal safety.
Practical & Career Skills – Introducing them to financial literacy, career guidance, and essential life skills to prepare them for independence.
4. Safeguarding & Monitoring When Signposting to Other Organisations
A key part of Noor Al-Wahda’s mission is to not only provide its own safe spaces but also ensure girls are protected when accessing other services. Vetting External Organisations – Before signposting a girl to another organisation, Noor Al-Wahda will assess the group’s policies, safety measures, and alignment with its ethos.
Assigning Volunteer Oversight – A trained volunteer will accompany or monitor girls attending external projects to ensure their safety and well-being.
Regular Check-Ins – The Charity will conduct follow-ups with both the girls and the organisations to ensure continued safeguarding.
Reporting & Intervention – If any issues arise, Noor Al-Wahda will have a structured process to step in and protect the girls, ensuring they are never placed in unsafe environments.
This active safeguarding model ensures that girls always have trusted support wherever they go, reinforcing the project's commitment to their safety, security, and well-being.
