Hello !
My name is Juma, from Zanzibar, Tazania, Africa. The place where I was born and I raised, the island where I belong, and for this reason, I want to give her back all things I can.
Since 10 years ago I started my educational career, teaching friends and people I know at he beginning. and little by little improving the project until I was able to rent a school to teach more than hundreds kids. I´ve started many projects, but with all difficulties we have in our country is not easy to get ahead.
For this reason I decide to create this fundraising, because I´m not able to make this project grows up just by myself. I want to help my neighbors, young generations and all my people form Zanzibar to have a better life, for all this, I need your help.
Now let me tell you more about Wishful:
Wishful Institute of Development and Education (W.I.D.E.) is a non-profit school in Zanzibar that aims to teach children and young adults English and computer skills outside of their formal school endeavors.
Given that the school is run entirely on donations from students, families, and volunteers, there is a large discrepancy between available resources and needed materials.
Donations are typically used to cover rent in both the school and the volunteer house, leaving little room for innovation in the school itself.
Most students don't have access to computers, or even notebooks and pens, leaving practical, hands-on learning for everyone out of the question.
These donations will be specifically used to first buy learning materials (paper, pens, books, computers) for the students, but the last goal is to save for building the school
Because if we can have our own school, we won´t need to pay rent anymore and we could be independent and use all donations exclusively to improve education.
