Help Harlow families have a Christmas: Nobody Left Out

We're Aaron Strachan from SA Foundation CIC, Dom Diomande from Outsdrz and Tim Strike from Strike Academy. Harlow is our community. Week in, week out, we're out across the town: coaching kids at after-school clubs, running with local people, and working with young people and families in Harlow schools. We know these families, and every Christmas we see who's struggling. So this year we've come together, with support from Safron Studio, to make sure nobody in Harlow is left out.
Our first target is £10,000 by 10 December, but it's not our limit. The more we raise, the more Harlow families we can reach.
Why it's needed
More than 7,000 children in Harlow are growing up in poverty: 7,369, more than 1 in 4 (End Child Poverty Coalition, 2025). Over Christmas there are two weeks with no free school meals, just when heating bills peak. Every December we see the pressure it puts on the families we know.
What we'll do together
- Christmas dinner boxes: a full dinner sized to the family, plus a supermarket voucher for the meat, delivered before Christmas
- Winter warmer boxes: long-life food, treats and winter essentials
- Christmas wish lists: gifts children have actually asked for
- Hospital toy run: toys for the children's ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital
- School toy drops: passed on quietly to the children who need them most
Families are helped by referral from schools, family hubs, health visitors, social workers and foodbanks, so help reaches the people who need it most.
What your donation does
- £10 buys a stocking filler for a child
- £40 buys a child's wish-list present
- £45 fills a winter warmer box for a family
- £55 gives a family of four their Christmas dinner
- £100 gives two families a winter warmer box
- £250 gives five families a winter warmer box
The more we raise, the more families we help
- £5,000: Christmas dinner for 25 families, winter warmer boxes for 40 families and presents for 20 children
- £10,000: Christmas dinner for 50 families, winter warmer boxes for 80 families and presents for 40 children
- £15,000: Christmas dinner for 75 families, winter warmer boxes for 120 families and presents for 60 children
- £20,000: Christmas dinner for 100 families, winter warmer boxes for 160 families and presents for 80 children
Every milestone includes the cost of packaging, fuel and delivery.
How our first £10,000 breaks down
- Christmas dinner boxes for 50 families: £2,750
- Winter warmer boxes for 80 families: £3,600
- Wish-list presents for 40 children: £1,600
- Packaging, fuel and delivery: £800
- Extra toys and contingency: £1,250
Our promise
Donations are managed by SA Foundation CIC and every pound goes on helping Harlow families. Anything left after Christmas goes into SA Foundation's work with young people in Harlow. We'll report back in January on how many families we reached and how every pound was spent.
SA Foundation is a community interest company, not a registered charity, so Gift Aid can't be added to donations.
