Noah's volunteering trip to Kenya with Camps International
Donation protected
Hi!
My name is Noah and I’m a 15 year old student in Nottingham and I am fundraising for some volunteering work I would like to do next year in Kenya.
I would hope to spend a month volunteering in Kenya next year on a social enterprise camp, doing community projects, environmental tasks and conservation work. Some of the work I will be doing includes;
• Building desks for school children so they don’t have to sit on the floor to learn.
• Building classrooms to provide children safe places to learn
• Digging elephant watering holes which helping elephants survive the dry season.
• Making ethical elephant deterrents to protect local crops. This reduces elephant poaching and increases crop production for the villagers to eat.
• Rhino sanctuary maintenance work. Rhinos are hugely endangered and poaching in East Africa is rife.
• Goat de-worming.
• Planting food trees for wildlife.
• Installing fresh water tanks at schools and in villages.
My aim in doing this trip is to make the most of my summer when I have finished my GCSE’s, to make a meaningful contribution outside of my usual life whilst learning new skills, gaining life experiences and helping communities. I am fully committed to contributing my time and energy and I am sure this experience will greatly impact the adult I will become. I hope you will agree this is a very worthwhile endeavour I am undertaking, however there are obviously some costs involved including: travel, insurances and accommodation. To make this trip possible, I need to raise £5,000.00 in total.
If you are interested in contributing I would be thrilled. Thank you for taking the time to read this email and for considering this request.
