Noah's Journey with cancer
Hello and thank you to whomever might be reading this. My name is Brittanee and I'm a close friend of Chelsea Holloway and Patrick Holland, the parents of 5 year old Noah who has just been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia or ALL.
Noah's aunt Stacey, was lucky to have gotten him to PRMC over the weekend for continued complaints of severe leg pain and not feeling well after his pediatrician dismissed his ailments the previous week as "growing pains" and sent he and his mother on their way to "wait it out" and see orthopedics if it did not resolve after a couple weeks. Upon arrival Noah's consciousness was diminishing and the hospital quickly found out he was losing blood and ultimately had virtually no clotting ability left as his platelet count was almost to zero. Had he not come in that day they said he probably wouldn't have made it through the weekend alive.
Now that Noah and his family know what is wrong they have a very long road ahead of them. To make matters worse, his mother had her car break down on the side of the road en route to John's Hopkins University where Noah was flown to from PRMC for acute emergency care yesterday morning. She now has to put out hundreds of dollars to get her car back home, along with taking the next 4 months at the very least to be at home with her son in this critical time of treatment and recovery. Noah will start chemotherapy tomorrow and receive a bone marrow biopsy for further testing.
While Noah has the most common type of childhood cancer with the greatest survival rate (95%) there are still many more factors that go into the life of a family that includes a child with cancer. Chelsea will have to discontinue working for the time being so Noah can stay home indefinitely through this process so he does not contract any type of infection. This means homeschooling, trips for chemo treatments only, potential side effects and infections to avoid,... so many more worries a lot of us don't have to go through or even think about....their finances should not have to be one of them. If you can or want to help out Noah and his family on their journey through cancer please donate any amount you can, share this with those you know and please pray that God will lay His hand upon sweet Noah and give strength in abundance to the entire family as the treatment begins. All donations will go to Chelsea for regular bills due, travel costs and living expenses for Noah and his siblings.
If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God bless,
Brittanee Walters
