Noah’s Compassion Internship NCIS

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Charlene and I’m fundraising for my son Noah. He is 18 years old; and his hope is to volunteer for 6 months as a compassion intern in a faith based program. An amazing opportunity has opened up for Noah to go to Anaheim in the New Year to carry out this dream.

Noah has always had a heart to help others in need. We currently live in Northern Ireland but are originally from Scotland. My husband and I pastor a small local church and we manage Enniskillen Foodbank. Noah has been volunteering in Foodbank from an early age and has continued to do so regularly. He has a huge heart for the community and those in need, whether they are lonely, lost or destitute, he treats them all with love, respect and kindness.

Noah has grown up with an empathetic nature, always helping and caring for others. He is a huge help at home too. He cares for his older sister who has special needs, and he has a close relationship with both his siblings. They will miss him very much as Noah plays a big part in our family.
Noah brings joy wherever he goes and lights up a room with his sense of humour and cheery disposition. He is a breath of fresh air and will flourish as an intern coming alongside others as an encourager and cheerleader. He is also involved in church life. He runs the sound system every Sunday, he’s involved in HOTS (Healing On The Streets) and is part of our Love Enniskillen outreach team. Our church family will miss him too.

Noah has had to overcome a lot these past few years; with the loss of his Granny during the Covid 19 pandemic, whom he was incredibly close too, as well as witnessing the long term sickness of myself. Due to me journeying this illness I’ve had to stop working and he has had to step into a caring role, alongside his dad and younger sister. He never complains (well, not to me anyway lol) and has stayed positive and hopeful through it all. He is definitely a superhero in our eyes.

We are fundraising so we can provide for Noah while he is away. The price of the program, the weekly rent and the cost of daily living for the 6 months is a lot for him and us to cover. We need YOUR help!

What’s this internship all about?!
This internship provides Noah with the opportunity to volunteer in the Dwelling Place Food Pantry. He will engage with guests, offering hope and dignity, walking alongside them in a journey of transformation. He will also be on a team that specifically prays and ministers to others within the church setting as well as going into the local community. Many doors will be opened.

He will be working a 40 hour week.

This will develop Noah’s compassion gifting, building his confidence and independence. He will also learn different ways to reach out to those who are vulnerable and in need as well as having the opportunity to connect and pray for them. This learning experience will help Noah to grow deeper in relationship with Jesus as he journeys a new and exciting season. We are excited to see what God has in store!

What can you do?
If you are willing to donate your gift will enable Noah to pay rent, buy food, pay for public transportation or to buy a second hand bike so he can travel independently. It will help cover the costs of the program and help Noah with day to day living costs. You can also help by praying for him. For his protection, his growth, his walk with God, his relationships, his finances, his commitment and his joy. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.

What happens after?
Noah would love to bring back what he has learnt and apply it here in Enniskillen. He has a desire to set up a new compassion outreach as part of The Lakes Vineyard Church that will benefit our community.

To some, this may not seem like anything special but to us it's significant and for Noah, life changing.

Thank you so much.
Many blessings
Charlene and the Shades Clan
